Daniel Kluger is a composer, music producer, orchestrator and sound designer.

Known for his Tony, Grammy and Olivier nominated bluegrass orchestrations of the Broadway revival of OKLAHOMA!, Kluger’s musical work spans a range from electronic dance music, to neoclassical chamber composition, jazz and atmospheric synth soundscapes. He has created original scores for dozens of award-winning theater projects, films and podcasts.

Broadway credits include the world premieres of THE SOUND INSIDE, SIGNIFICANT OTHER, Seawall / A Life, and the revival of MARVIN’S ROOM, in addition to countless Off-Broadway productions. Film credits include THE COURTROOM, A Christmas Carol, Hello Again, Health to the King, among others.. Podcast scores include Audible’s THE MIRANDA OBSESSION, THE GUILTY, OFFENSE, and Ken Urban’s VAPOR TRAIL.

Kluger collaborates with some of New York’s finest musicians, including Nathan Koci, Bryan Carter, Clara Kennedy, Sam Sadigursky, Riley Mulherkar, and the International Contemporary Ensemble. An advocate for the importance of live music and musicianship in theater scoring, Kluger has taught music production both privately and at the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale.

Kluger is Resident Composer and Music Producer at Renaissance Recording, a newly reopened studio in Hell’s Kitchen run by Grammy award-winning engineers Ian Kagey and Derik Lee. Originally built and run by John Kilgore, the studio has served Broadway, film and music projects for 20 years, and under this new leadership is being maintained and upgraded to serve a new generation of theater and film music production.

BREAK

A film by Ehizoje Azeke
Music by Daniel Kluger

"After attending 2 months of protests against police brutality in New York City, I wanted to investigate what personal recovery looks like. Nature, specifically the ocean, has always been a source of peace for me and movement has always been a source of release and relief. The beach felt like the perfect place for self-therapy. This film is an exploration of what it feels like to take a break from the critical but sometimes overwhelming work of protesting and to heal using the cleansing energy of nature and isolation." - Ehizoje Azeke
